Twitter rolled out Geotagging of Tweets and Project ReTweet today, and Twittelator Pro 3.3.1 is the first iPhone twitter client to take advantage of these cool features. Geotagging allows users to optionally attach a latitude and longitude to each tweet. You can tap the tweet to see a map of where it originated or use the Nearby search to find tweeters near you or any location on the planet. Twittelator also lets you create the new official ReTweets, as well as monitor them.

Albuquerque, NM – Twitter today turned on Geotagging of Tweets and automatic ReTweeting and Stone Design’s top-selling iPhone Twitter client Twittelator Pro currently shipping version 3.3.1 is the first iPhone Twitter client to take full advantage of both features.

Geotagging allows users to optionally attach a latitude and longitude to each tweet – and in Twittelator, you can tap the tweet to see a map of where it originated or use the Nearby search to find tweeters near you or any location on the planet. You can toggle the geotagging on or off at tweet time.

Twitter’s new ReTweet feature was also 100% deployed today, and Twittelator lets you create these new “official” ReTweets, as well as monitor ReTweet’s of yours that are ReTweeted, and see the ones that you ReTweet or are ReTweeted to you.

“We were insane to ship Twittelator V3.3.1 with untested, undeployed features.” said Stone Design CEO Andrew Stone, @twittelator. “but it’s insanely great that you can Geotag and auto ReTweet today with our shipping version right now!”

Twittelator Pro was recently featured at the top of the Summer’s Hottest iPhone Apps in an Apple/AT&T full page ad in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times and USA Today, and runs on all models of the iPhone and iPod Touch. With so many other power features including multiple accounts, lists, record audio, shoot video, unlimited drafts, offline tweeting, Twittelator Pro packs the most features into a Twitter client, mobile or desktop.

“There are two major factors which set Twittelator apart from the rest of the pack,” remarked Mr. Stone. “We do a free major monthly update and we listen carefully to and act on our customers’ issues and feature requests.”

Swedish software company Graphiclife today announces Tweetspotting 1.0.1, a powerful Twitter client for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Tweetspotting allows you to browse tweets from all over the globe. Explore any location and find out what people are thinking, doing and saying. Tweetspotting also includes a real-time friend tracker that will help you find and follow your friends. Tweetspotting will automatically post your current location to the Twitter servers while you’re on the move.

Lund, Sweden – Combining Twitter and Google Maps, Tweetspotting is a powerful Twitter client for the iPhone and iPod Touch that allows you to browse tweets from all over the globe. Explore any location and find out what people are thinking, doing and saying (i.e tweeting). Tweetspotting also includes a real-time friend tracker that will help you find and follow your friends.

Tweetspotting displays Twitter activity in four different modes: World, Timeline, Mentions and Track. Each mode sports a map-view and a list-view for convenient browsing.

The World mode is useful for watching news and events happening nearby or in a city far, far away. It is possible to filter tweets by specific content, such as keywords, hashtags (a method for linking tweets to a specific topic) and user mentions.

The Timeline mode is for displaying your home timeline, which contains tweets from the people you are following. Find out where your friends are and what they are doing.

The Mentions mode allows you to see what people all over the world are saying about you.

Tweetspotting will, if granted access, automatically post your current location to the Twitter servers while you’re on the move. In Track mode, Tweetspotting will download this information from the your friends and plot their movement on the map. Following friends has never been easier. Naturally, Tweetspotting contains standard Twitter features such as posting tweets, geocoding them accordingly, replying and retweeting, image uploading through yFrog and url shortening through bit.ly.

The application is prepared with the draft specification of Twitter’s geocoding API which, according to Twitter, will be available in the near future. When released, the geocoding API will provide Tweetspotting with additional geographical data making it even more powerful and exciting.
